Weekend Club Preview And Fixtures

There are only a handful of games being played over a relatively quiet festive season.

On Saturday, which is also St Stephen’s Day, Young Munster and Old Crescent contest the Limerick Charity Cup decider at Tom Clifford Park.
Young Munster will be bidding for their 24th title having last won it in 2011/12, while Old Crescent’s only success were in1976/77 and1993/94.
Old Crescent are currently top of Division 2C, but Young Munster will be expected to keep their unbeaten run going since David Corkery took over as Coach at Clifford Park.

Cork Constitution and UCC lock horns in the annual Crowley Cup at Temple Hill, with the home side aiming to reclaim the trophy after the Students ended their sequence of successive wins last year.

The only game in the Munster Junior League sees Charleville and Mallow going head to head in a North Cork derby in Division 2 at Smith’s Road on Stephen’s Day. This will be a tricky assignment for Mallow, who are second from bottom and still seeking their first win, with two losing bonus points to their credit.

On Sunday Crosshaven take on Bantry Bay in the quarter finals of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup at Myrtleville Cross, with the winners meeting Fermoy at the Showgrounds in the semi-final.

Youghal make the long trip the West Kerry Gaeltacht on Tuesday to take on Corca Dhuibhne in the first semi-final.
