Weekend Club Preview And Fixtures

It is back to club action this weekend with a full programme of games in the both the Ulster Bank League and Munster Junior League.

In Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League Cork Constitution will be looking to make the most of home advantage count in a bid to continue their recent good run as they entertain Young Munster, who are also in mid-table at Temple Hill.

Bottom side Dolphin will have their work cut out as they travel to the capital to take on Old Belvedere at Anglesea Road.

Garryowen, who are third in Division 1B, will be aiming to climb up the table as they entertain struggling Dublin University at Dooradoyle.

Limerick neighbours Shannon welcome bottom side Belfast Harlequins to Thomond Park and UL Bohemian make the long trip to Belfast to take on Malone.

In Division 2A, Thomond will be aiming to collect maximum points from their home tie against City of Derry as they aim to keep their aspirations of a second successive promotion intact.

Nenagh Ormond take on UCC in a Munster derby at New Ormond Park and Cashel are away to Queen’s University in a mid-table clash.

Division 2B leaders Highfield welcome struggling Boyne to Woodleigh Park and the home side will be aiming to claim maximum points in their quest for a return to Division 2A at the first attempt.

The two sides who were promoted to the AIL from Junior ranks last season lock horns as Kanturk travel to the Capital to take on Wanderers at Merrion Road in a mid-table encounter.

Sunday’s Well face a tricky task as they welcome Sligo to Musgrave Park and Midleton take on Old Crescent at Towns Park.

Bruff travel to Kilternan to take on DLSP and struggling Richmond are away to Tullamore.

In the Munster Junior League leaders Newcastle West are away to St Senan’s and title rivals Clonmel entertain surprise package Muskerry at the South Tipperary venue.

Cobh Pirates will be looking to make the most of home advantage count in a bid to record their first win of the campaign as they welcome Galbally to the Paddocks. This game also doubles up as a Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup tie as their recent meeting in the Cup at the County Limerick venue was abandoned due to floodlight failure.

Skibbereen will have their work cut out as they travel to the Kingdom to take on Tralee.

Kinsale, who are rooted to the foot of the table face a tricky task as they take on Clonakilty at the South Cork venue.

Old Christians will be looking to make the home advantage count as they welcome Kilfeacle to Rathcooney and St Mary’s entertain Waterpark at Grove Island in a game that both sides need a victory to move away from the danger zone.

Division 2 pacesetters Bandon should have little difficulty in seeing off the challenge of Abbeyfeale at Old Chapel and their nearest challengers Castleisland are at home to Thurles in a top of the table clash.

Clanwilliam joint third will be looking to claim maximum points from their home tie with Ennis in a bid to keep their promotion aspirations intact.

Ballincollig and Mallow go head to head in a Cork derby at Tanner Park and Crosshaven, who are still without a win, face a tricky assignment against Presentation at Rathuard.

Youghal travel to the Premier County to take on fellow strugglers Newport and Killarney will be aiming to record their second win of the campaign as they entertain bottom side Waterford City.

The top two in Division 3 are on the road as Douglas take on Fethard at the Tipperary venue and Dungarvan make the long trip to East Clare to play Scariff.

Third-placed Fermoy lock horns with Bantry Bay at the Showgrounds. The North Cork side recently defeated Bantry in the Martin O’Sullivan Cup and Fermoy will be expected to record a home win and keep their promotion bid intact.

Carrigaline meet Charleville in a basement clash at the South Cork venue.
