Weekend Club Preview And Fixtures

The Ulster Bank All Ireland League continues this weekend with a full programme of games in Divisions 1A and 1B.

Bottom side Dolphin will be looking to make the most of home advantage in a bid to record their first win of the campaign in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League as they welcome fellow strugglers St Mary’s College to Irish Independent Park on Saturday in what is a must win game for both sides.

Third-placed Young Munster travel to the Capital to take on former champions Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday with five points separating these sides.

Cork Constitution are also in Dublin on Sunday as they take on UCD at Belfield, with both sides needing a win to keep their challenge alive for a top four finish.

Shannon face a tough assignment in Division 1B as they make the long trip to County Antrim to take on Ballymena at Eaton Park. Limerick neighbours Garryowen, who are in second place and aiming for a quick return to the top flight, are away to seventh-placed Malone.

Struggling UL Bohemian face a tricky task as they take on fourth-placed Buccaneers at Thomond Park.

The Cyril Fitzgerald Plate gets underway this weekend with UCC taking on Kanturk at the Mardyke. The winners will be away to Midleton or Sunday’s Well in the semi-final.

Munster Junior League leaders Newcastle West are at home to Leinster League leaders Dundalk in the All Ireland Junior Cup quarter-finals. The West Limerick side are the only Munster team left in the competition and they will be looking to bounce back from last week’s shock defeat by Cobh Pirates in the Munster Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup.

Kinsale, who are propping up the table in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League, face a tricky assignment as they entertain fourth-placed Clonakilty at the South Cork venue. This game also doubles up as a Cork County Cup semi final tie.

The other ties in the top flight see Skibbereen and Cobh Pirates go head to head at the Carbery Showgrounds and Waterpark take on St Senan’s in a mid-table clash at Ballinakill.

There is a full programme of games in Division 3 and leaders Dungarvan will be aiming to keep their unbeaten record intact as they entertain fourth-placed Bantry Bay at Ballyrandle.

Second-placed Douglas are away to third-placed Fermoy and home advantage will be vital for the North Cork side in their bid to keep their outside promotion hopes alive.

Two sides still without a win will be looking to make the most of home advantage as Killorglin welcome Charleville to the Kingdom and Carrigaline lock horns with Fethard at the South Cork venue. Carrig will also be aiming to avenge last month’s narrow home defeat by the Tipperary side in the Martin O’Sullivan Cup.
