The new Munster Rugby Domestic season gets underway this weekend with five first round ties in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup.

All players need to register online ahead of the season’s start. See full details here.

There is also local action in North Munster in the Transfield Cup and the McElligott Cup in Kerry.

The 15 Senior Clubs and Kilfeacle & District are participating in this season’s Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup. See the full draw here.

Kilfeacle welcome 2011 winners Bruff to West Tipperary and the winners will be rewarded with home advantage against Shannon.

There is a Premier County derby at the Spafield which sees Cashel, who reached the semi-finals in 2005 when they were still a Junior Club, entertaining near neighbours Clonmel.

The winners will be away to Dolphin or Old Crescent, who lock horns at Irish Independent Park.

Sunday’s Well, whose last triumph was in 1994, and 2003 finalists Midleton go head to head at Irish Independent Park and the winners will be at home to UL Bohemian or Nenagh Ormond, who meet at the UL 4G pitch in Round 2.

Proceedings get underway in the Transfield Cup on Saturday as Ennis welcome St Mary’s to the Banner County and the winners will be away to Newcastle West or Abbeyfeale, who lock horns in a West Limerick derby on Sunday.

In the opening round of the McElligott Cup, last year’s finalists Killarney are at home to Castleisland on Saturday and on Sunday, Chorca Dhuibhne welcome Listowel to the West Kerry Gaeltacht.
