Weekend Fixtures

A quiet weekend on the local scene because of Munster’s Heineken Cup game on Sunday.

Cork Constitution will hope to continue Munster’s great run in the revamped All Ireland Bateman Cup when they travel North to face Ulster Cup winners Ballymena in the semi-final on Saturday.

The Ulster Bank All Ireland League resumes with a full series of games in Division 2A and Division 2B.

Nenagh Ormond and Thomond get proceedings under way on Friday evening at the North Tipperary venue. Nenagh will be looking to keep their quest for promotion on track while the Limerick side are battling against a drop to junior ranks.

On Saturday, Division 2A leaders UCC travel to the Capital to take on fifth-placed Old Wesley at Donnybrook and a win is vital for the students if they are to remain in pole position.

Highfield are away to fourth-placed Corinthians and Cashel take on Seapoint at Killiney in a mid-table clash.

Midleton will be looking to make the most of home advantage in their battle against the drop as they entertain fellow strugglers DLSP at Towns Park.

In Division 2 B Clonakilty will be aiming to build on their recent 32-0 home win over Connemara in their battle against relegation as they welcome Navan to the Vale.
Sunday’s Well entertain Skerries in a mid-table clash at Musgrave Park.

There are two games scheduled in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League this weekend. On Saturday Kanturk are at home to Clonmel with the home side hoping to close the gap on leaders Richmond.

On Sunday Old Christians entertain Skibbereen in their postponed game from last weekend and the points are crucial to both sides for different reasons. Skibbereen are hoping to finish in the top four and Old Christians are trying to move away from the relegation battle at the other end of the table.
