Weekend Fixtures

It is a quiet weekend of action this weekend because of the 6 Nations game in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday between Ireland and France.

The only game in the Ulster Bank League sees Dolphin entertain Young Munster at Musgrave Park on Saturday kick off 2.30 in their postponed Division 1A tie.

There are several cup games to be decided in the Munster Junior Cup Plate and Bowl. It starts on Saturday when Mallow entertain Waterpark. Mallow with their league program completed can now focus on the Cup and will hope to start with a win over their First Division opponents.

Junior Cup holders Cork Constitution begin their defence of the trophy against St Senan’s at Jimmy Slattery Park and should advance against a Clare side who will be disappointed to have being relegated from the top flight last week.

Last season’s beaten finalists Skibbereen are way to Cobh Pirates and the East Cork side will be looking to make the most of home advantage as they seek to avenge last December’s League defeat by Skibb’ at the West Cork venue.

Newcastle West have a tricky task on their hands as they are away to League champions Richmond who recorded a comprehensive 44-5 away win over the West Limerick side in the League back in October.

Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup winners Kanturk welcome UL Bohemian to the Duhallow venue and will be looking for more cup success in what should be the game of the day.

Elsewhere Clonmel are at home to Ennis, Kinsale take on Midleton and Tralee entertain Bruff.

In the Junior Plate Dungarvan, who have already made a quick return to Division 3 of the Junior League are away to fellow Division 2 strugglers Thurles and they will have their work cut out as they aim to make it two wins out of two over the Tipperary side. The West Waterford side recorded a 26-18 home victory over Thurles in November which turned out to be their only League win.

Bandon will be hoping to continue their recent good form and cause an upset with a home win over Thomond.
Carrick-on-Suir are at home to Division 3 leaders Killorglin and the Kerry side could cause a surprise and win.
.
Castleisland who are seeking promotion to Division 1 are at home to Old Crescent.

Waterford City are at home to Charleville in the Junior Bowl semi-final and they will fancy their chances of advancing, despite Charleville recent wins.

Douglas will be looking to make it two wins out of two as they travel to the Banner County to take on Scariff, who they defeated 14-3 in the League at Moneygourney a month

The only game in the Junior League sees Ballincollig at home to Kilrush as they bid to get back in the promotion race with a bonus point win in Division Three.
