Irish Independent Park hosts the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup final on Saturday night.

The curtain comes down on another season with the final series of games in the Junior Interprovincial series and the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup final down for decision this Saturday.

Munster travel to East Galway to take on bottom side Connacht at Creggs RFC. It is all to play for as Munster and Leinster are tied on six points apiece, while Ulster, who take on Leinster in Dundalk, are in pole position on seven points.

Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup holders Cork Constitution lock horns with Highfield in the decider at Irish Independent Park. The Lilywhites are seeking their 20th triumph, while Highfield have won the trophy on four occasions, with their last success coming in 1972.

This is also the first final meeting between these sides since 1987, when the Temple Hill side put up 21 points without reply.

Cork Constitution began their campaign with 46-0 win away to Kinsale in the third round. They followed this up with a 31-6 home win over an impressive Mallow side.

In the quarter-finals they proved too strong for Junior League runners-up Newcastle West at the west Limerick venue emerging deserving winners 34-24 and in the semi-final they easily disposed of Clonmel.

Highfield had to play five games to reach the decider.

They started their campaign with a 33-20 home win against Charleville, a game that could have gone either way.

Dolphin were beaten 55-0 and they followed that up with a 56-0 home win over Shannon.

They were put to the pin of their collar to beat Young Muster 31-27 in a thriller at Tom Clifford Park and they booked their final place with a convincing 29-3 home win against Cashel.

While Cork Constitution will start as favourites they are sure to get a big test from the men from Woodleigh Park.

The Carroll Plate Final will be played at Kilballyowen Park on Sunday when Fethard take on St. Senan’s.
