Appeals Committee to rule on whether Clanwilliam or Kilfeacle will be relegated after Kilfeacle moved ahead of their neighbours with a bonus point victory over Richmond.

An Appeals Committee of the Munster Branch are to rule during the week on Clanwilliam’s objection to their defeat by Kilfeacle in the league a few weeks ago. The outcome of this will decide which of these Tipperary clubs will be relegated along with Thurles to Division Two next season.

Darren Lowry was the toast of Kilfeacle after his last minute try was enough to give his side a 22-18 victory over champions Richmond. A try from Emmett Harty and a conversion and penalty by Jonathon Forde gave Richmond a 10-5 interval lead over Kilfeacle. Sean Leahy scored a try for the home side. A try from James McDermott and a Forde penalty looked to be enough to send Kilfeacle into the Second Division but tries from Jack Sullivan and Ian Burns and a conversion from Derek Ryan kept Kilfeacle in touch until Lowry’s last gasp winner.

Clanwilliam needed to win away to Kanturk to secure their status but tries by Bryan O’Neill, John O’Sullivan and Jack Berkley was enough to give Kanturk a 15-0 victory and finish runners up three points behind the leaders.

Clonmel have moved into fourth spot after their 13-10 home win over Galbally. Ben Martin kicked two first half penalties to give Clonmel a 6-3 interval lead, Darren Guerin replied with one for the visitors. Niall McNamara put Galbally ahead with a try five minutes into the second half and Guerin converted but a late rally saw Stephen Pyke score a try for the home side and Martin converted.

Crosshaven must win their outstanding game with Old Christians when it is refixed if they are to qualify for the All Ireland Junior Cup next season after their game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Cobh Pirates maintained their top flight status with a 19-12 home win over Skibbereen. Cobh raced into an early 12-0 lead with tries from Jack Hickey and Eamon Ronan and a Ronan conversion. Tries by David O’Keeffe and David Shannon and a Peter Mihaere conversion had Skibbereen level at half time. The only score of the second half was a try by John Barry-Murphy which Ronan converted.

Waterpark travelled to Tralee on Saturday and came away with a narrow 19-18 victory to move into fifth spot. The visitors led 16-5 at half time with tries from Jamie Walsh and Murray Kinsella and Tom Kiersey kicked two penalties. Jeremy Walsh was Tralee’s try scorer. After the break Tralee had tries from Eoin Murphy and Liam Quad and Colm Crowley kicked a penalty and Kiersey replied with his third penalty for Waterpark.

Thurles finished their unbeaten stay in the top flight with another defeat going down to St. Senan’s 31-5. The visitors had tries from Ian Fitzgerald, Eamon O’Donoghue, Dylan Sonnemann and Fernando Gallant. Declan Collins converted all four tries and also kicked a drop goal.

Mallow head into the final series of games in Division Two of the Munster Junior League with a three point advantage after a 23-0 away win over Castleisland.
The north Cork side led 6-0 at half time with penalties from Sean Glynn and Robbie Doyle. Glynn scored two tries after the break and Richard Weedle one and Doyle converted one.

St. Mary’s are still in second place after they ended Kinsale’s promotion hopes with a 24-8 victory at Corbally. A try from Robert Brockett and a Sean Lyons penalty gave the Saints an 8-3 interval lead. The home side had to play the final fifty minutes of this game with fourteen men after one of their players was shown a red card. Sean Markham scored a second try for the Saints and Lyons added a conversion and three penalties. Paul Perez replied with a penalty and a try for the visitors.

Newcastle West remain in third place seven points behind the leaders with a game in hand after they defeated Ballincollig 31-12, a result that leave the Cork side propping up the table. A try by James Kelly in the last play of the game secured a bonus point victory that could prove to be very crucial at the end of the campaign. The west Limerick side led 10-9 at half time with a try from Karl Hayes and a conversion and penalty by Alan Roche to two penalties and a drop goal by Denis Galvin. James Corbett and Brian O’Sullivan added further tries before Kelly’s late try and Roche converted all three. Galvin kicked a third penalty for Ballincollig.

Muskerry moved off the foot of the table with an 18-10 home win over Scariff. Tries by Darren O’Farrell and Jaydee Meyer and a conversion and two penalties by Pat Dennehy ensured victory for the home side. Thomas Cronin replied with a try, conversion and penalty for the Clare side.

Three penalties from Kevin South helped Bandon to a 9-0 away win over Newport in their bottom of the table clash.

Ennis and Youghal shared the spoils at the Showgrounds after a 6-6 draw. Aaron Daly put Youghal ahead with two penalties but David Murphy replied with two for the home side.

A penalty by Shane O’Brien was not enough for Presentation who lost 15-3 away to Killarney.

It as you were in the Third Division with only Abbeyfeale the only side in contention for promotion to lose.

Dungarvan remain top of the table after they received a walk over from Bantry Bay.

Both Carrick-on-Suir and Waterford City are two points behind the leaders and Killorglin a further three points behind.

Carrick-on-Suir travelled to Charleville and won 13-8. David Kersey scored Carrick’s only try and Charlie Boland converted and also added two penalties. Ger Sheehan replied with a try for the home side and Shane Corkery kicked a penalty.

Waterford City defeated Kilrush 12-10 in a mud bath at the Clare venue with all the scores coming in the opening half. Simon O’Hara scored a try for Waterford who were also awarded a penalty try which Aaron Foskin converted. Brian Johnson replied with a try for Kilrush and Paul Conway kicked a conversion and penalty.

Killorglin kept their promotion hopes alive with a 19-17 away win over Fermoy. Darren Curtayne scored two tries for the winners and Tony Lynch one and Luke O’Shea added two conversions. Jim Mackesy, Jeffrey Daly and Peter Stapleton were try scorers for Fermoy and Joe Lee kicked a conversion.

Douglas ended Abbeyfeale’s promotion hopes with a 30-14 away victory. Dan Lehane scored two tries for the winners and Mike Scanlon, Graham Murray and Denis O’Driscoll got one each. Paul Byrne added a conversion and Liam Hynes a penalty. David Ward and Matt Behan scored tries for the home side and Thomas Enright converted both.

The top two sides In the Northern Section of the Munster Seconds League played a 13-13 draw when leaders Garryowen met Young Munster at Dooradoyle. Aaron Carroll scored a try for Young Munster and Brian Haugh kicked a conversion and two penalties.

Dolphin defeated Highfield 38-23 in the Southern Section. John Leahy, Kevin Brophy, Lar Coughlan, James Vaughan and Dougie Abbott scored tries for the winners and Paddy Moakley kicked five conversions and a penalty.

In the Junior Two Cup South a John Tait penalty was not enough for Carrigaline who lost at home to Old Christians 24-3.

Skibbereen defeated Cobh Pirates 16-13. Sean O’Neill scored two tries for the winners and Mark Kingston added two penalties. Eoin Geary and Martin Reidy replied with tries for Cobh and Geary also kicked a penalty.

Highfield defeated Muskerry 51-3. Jack Duffy scored two tries for the winners and Chris Lyons Denis Quaid, Eugene O’Brien, Killian McNally, Kevin Higgins and Darren Walsh also crossed the white wash. Dara O’Keeffe kicked four conversions and a penalty.

Shandon defeated U.C.C. 22-15 at Curaheen Road. Eoin Murnane, Barry Leahy and Conor Buckley scored tries for Shandon and Buckley kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Dolphin and Cork Transport played a 7-7 draw at Musgrave Park where Killian Walsh scored a try for Dolphin and James Holland converted.
