Cashel defeated Crosshaven for the third time this season to win the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup Final at Charleville 48-10.

Darragh O’Brien put Cashel ahead with two penalties before Cian McGovern replied with a drop goal for Crosshaven. A try by Pat O’Connor converted by Darragh O’Brien left Cashel 13-3 ahead at half time. The League champions extended their advantage with tries by Brian Silke, O’Brien and two by Pat O’Connor all converted by O’Brien for a 41-3 lead. Kenny Donovan scored a try for Crosshaven which Paul Memery converted but Kevin Leamy wrapped up the scoring with a sixth Cashel try and O’Brien again converted.

Presentation needed extra time to see of the challenge of Waterford City before lifting the Munster Junior Bowl trophy at Kilfeacle. The Third Division champions were cruising at one stage as they led 22-0 with two tries from Brendan Coleman and one by Danny Lillis. Mark Phair converted two of them and Mark Kelly kicked a drop goal. Waterford rallied with two tries by Darren Walsh and one each from Colin Lynch and Aaron Foskin and two conversions by Walsh. Darragh Callaghan scored a fourth try for Presentation before a last minute penalty by Walsh tied up the scores and sent the game into extra time. Phair put Pres’ ahead a minute into extra time with a penalty and while Waterford had their chances to win the tie, the Limerick side held out for their third trophy of the season.

Old Christians booked their place in the Cork County Cup Final with a 44-21 away win over Kanturk. The winners scored seven tries with Aiden Ware getting two and Peter Twohig, Peter Twomey, Conor Mangan, Stephen Donovan and Brendan Culloty one each. Mangan kicked three conversions and a penalty. Paul Cotter and Darragh Meade replied with tries for Kanturk and Meade kicked a conversion and three penalties.

Old Christians will now face Skibbereen in the final after the holders reached the final with a 31-0 win over Crosshaven in mid week.

Richmond retained their Transfield Cup title with a 28-16 win over Newcastle West at Annacotty. The First Division side led 16-3 at half time with tries from Geoff McNamara, Garrett O’Hanlon and two penalties by Wayne Murphy. Tommy Kelleher replied with a penalty for the West Limerick side. McNamara and Keith Reynolds added tries after the break and Murphy kicked a conversion. Declan Moloney scored a try for Newcastle West and Kelleher added a conversion and two penalties.

Mallow booked their place in the final of the O’Neill Cup with a dramatic last minute drop goal from player coach Bryan Morris for a 27-26 victory over Muskerry at Ballyanly.
Mallow led 10-7 at half time with a try from Dave Walsh which Morris converted and also added a penalty. Lorcan Collins replied for Muskerry with a try which Owen Keohane converted. Muskerry then raced into a 26-10 lead with tries from Pat Rourke, Timmy Keating and Will Healy and Rob O’Keeffe converted two of them. Mallow rallied in the final quarter and tries from John McAuliffe and Leonard Brown both converted by Morris left two points between the sides until Morris’s late drop goal.

Mallow must now await the winners of Monday night’s other semi final tie between Fermoy and Midleton which kicks off at 7.30.

Holders U.L. Bohemian advanced to the final of the Munster Seconds League with a 31-27 win over U.C.C. at Curaheen Road.

Ballincollig and Cashel will contest the Munster Junior Two Cup Final. Ballincollig defeated Shannon 17-16 at Tanner Park. Shane Campbell, Fergal Considine and Gary Hanlon scored tries for Ballincollig and John Stevenson kicked a conversion.

Cashel defeated Dolphin 12-5 in the other semi final. The sides were tied 5-5 at half time with James Hennigan scoring a try for Cashel. A try by Mike O’Connor converted by Ger O’Sullivan saw the Tipperary side advance to another final.

Cork Constitution reached the final of the Junior Two Cup South with a 29-22 home win over Cobh Pirates. Constitution had two tries from James O’Sullivan and one apiece by Rory O’Sullivan and Tadgh Buckley. Gary Byrne kicked three conversions and a penalty. Cobh replied with two tries from Peter Mullen and one by Fergal Twomey. Ian Jones kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Douglas won the Junior Three South Bowl final at Bandon with a 24-19 win over Bantry Bay at Bandon. James Healy, James Cantwell, Barry Hines and Dave Murphy scored tries for Douglas and Murphy converted two of them.

Fermoy defeated Cork Transport 15-8 to reach the final of the McCarthy Cup where they will face Ballincollig in the decider. Andrew Magner, Tom Dillon and Alan Burdette scored tries for Fermoy. Paul Riordan was Transport’s try scorer and Mark Bevan kicked a penalty.
