This weekend, the Men’s Munster Junior League and the Women’s Munster League takes centre stage with a full list of games across all divisions.
In Division 1 of the Men’s Munster Junior League, unbeaten leaders Thomond lock horns with third-placed Kanturk at the Duhallow venue. Thomond, who have maximum points from their games to date, claimed all points on offer from their 32-5 home win over Richmond in a Limerick City derby. The Duhallow side recorded a narrow bonus point win over Sunday’s Well 28-24 at Virgin Media Park.
Bandon, who are also unbeaten in second place, make the short trip to Crosshaven. The West Cork side recorded a maximum-point 26-8 home win over Newcastle West last time out. The Seasiders are seeking their first win as they were defeated 31-10 at home by Clonakilty.
Clonakilty, who are ninth, face a tricky task, as they welcome Kilfeacle to The Vale. Clonakilty claimed maximum points from their 31-10 away win over Crosshaven. Kilfeacle recorded a narrow 26-23 bonus point victory over Premier County neighbours Thurles at the West Tipperary venue.
Richmond, who are 11th, are at home to unbeaten Muskerry. The Limerick side were defeated 19-14 by Sunday’s Well on Leeside in their last game. Sky Blues, who are unbeaten and one point adrift of the top four, go into the tie on the back of a 21-5 home win over Thurles.
Newcastle West, who are hovering above the drop zone, entertain St Mary’s. The West Limerick side returned with a losing bonus point from their 42-33 defeat by Skibbereen, as they scored four tries. St Mary’s go into the tie on the back of a 34-27 bonus point home win over Mallow.
Mallow go head to head with Sunday’s Well at the North Cork venue. Mallow returned with two bonus points from their 34-27 defeat by St Mary’s in Limerick, as they scored four tries. Sunday’s Well recorded their first win of the campaign last time out, as they defeated Richmond 19-14 at Virgin Media Park.
Thurles, who are propping up the table on three points, welcome Skibbereen to the Premier County. Thurles go into tie on the back of a 21-5 away defeat by Muskerry. The West Cork side claimed all points on offer from their 42-33 home win over Newcastle West, in game that produced 11 tries.
Division 2 leaders Clanwilliam, who have maximum points from their games to date, travel to West Limerick, to take on Abbeyfeale, who are second from bottom and seeking their first win of the campaign. The Tipperary Town side claimed all points on offer for their 35-12 away victory over Ballincollig. Abbeyfeale returned from their 41-33 defeat by Kinsale in South Cork with a bonus point, as they scored five tries.
Cobh Pirates, who recorded their first win of the campaign last time out as they ran out 36-20 maximum-point home winners over St Senan’s, lock horns with second-placed Old Christians at the Paddocks. Old Christians claimed all points on offer from their comprehensive 52-8 home win over Fermoy.
Castleisland and Ennis, who were both promoted of from Division 3 last season, go head to head in the Kingdom. The Kerry side are hovering above the drop zone and they go into the tie on the back of a 17-3 away defeat by Kinsale. Ennis, who are third, go into the tie on the back of a 26-6 bonus point home win over Cobh Pirates.
Charleville entertain fourth-placed Fethard at Smith’s Road. The North Cork side, who are 11th, recorded their first win of the campaign as they defeated Tralee 25-20 at the Kerry venue. Fethard, who are fourth, go into the tie on the back of a 26-19 bonus point home victory over Fermoy.
Bottom side Fermoy, go head to head with fifth-placed Ballincollig at the Showgrounds. Fermoy were defeated 52-8 away by Old Christians last time out, while Ballincollig surrendered their unbeaten start to the campaign, losing 37-12 at home to Clanwilliam.
Ninth-placed St Senan’s welcome Tralee, who are sixth, to the Banner County. St Senan’s were defeated 36-10 by Cobh Pirates in East Cork, but claimed a bonus point, as they scored four tries. The Kerry side surrendered their unbeaten run as they were defeated 25-20 at home by Charleville and claimed a losing bonus point.
Waterpark, who are tenth, entertain seventh-placed Kinsale at Ballinakill. The Suirsiders go into the tie on the back of a 30-15 away defeat by Ballincollig. The South Cork side recorded a 17-5 home win over Castleisland last time out.
Unbeaten Division 3 leaders Youghal, who have maximum points from their games to date, travel to the Kingdom to take on Killarney. Youghal recorded a comprehensive 86-7 home win over Douglas last time out, while Killarney defeated Ardscoil Old Boys 27-6 in Limerick, to record their first win.
Scariff welcome second-placed Corca Dhuibhne, who are unbeaten, to East Clare. Scariff are seeing their first points, following their 43-10 defeat by Waterford City on Suirside. Corca Dhuibhne recorded a maximum-point 38-14 home win over Dungarvan in the West Kerry Gaeltacht.
Douglas go in search of their first win, as they go head to head with Waterford City at Castletreasure. Douglas go into the tie on the back of a heavy 86-7 defeat by Youghal in East Cork, while the Suirsiders claimed all points on offer from their 43-19 home win over Scariff.
Killorglin, who are propping up the table, entertain Ardscoil Old Boys at the Mid Kerry venue. Killorglin were defeated 47-17 by Carrick-on-Suir at Tybroughney, while Ardscoil Old Boys were defeated 27-6 by Killarney in Limerick.
Dungarvan lock horns with Galbally-Mitchelstown in West Waterford, with both sides going into the tie on the back of defeats to Corca Dhuibhne. Dungarvan were defeated 38-14 in the West Kerry Gaeltacht, while Galbally-Mitchelstown claimed their only point to date, when they were defeated 20-14 by the same opposition at Galbally.
In Division 1 of the Munster Women’s League, Shannon-TUS, who put up 57 points without reply against Roaring Water Bay, welcome Tralee, who were defeated 25-12 by Ennis-Kilrush to Coonagh.
Ennis-Kilrush, who claimed all point son offer from their 25-12 away win over Tralee in the Kingdom, welcome Dolphin to the Banner County. Dolphin ran out 33-5 winners over Roaring Water Bay at Virgin Media Park last time out.
UL Bohemian, who recorded a 36-14 bonus point victory over Thurles in the Premier County, entertain Bruff, who are beginning their campaign, to Annacotty, in Division 2 Pool A.
Clonakilty begin their campaign in Division 2 Pool B with a home tie against Ballincollig, who recorded a 20-19 maximum-point away win over Midleton.
Midleton entertain Mallow, at Towns Park, with both sides going into the tie on the back of home defeats by Ballincollig. Midleton claimed a bonus point as they were defeated 20-19 at Towns Park, while Mallow lost 28-0 in North Cork.
