Weekend Preview

Garryowen face Cork Constitution in the Munster Senior Seconds’ League decider at Dooradoyle INPHO/Laszlo Geczo

The curtain comes down on the 2017/18 season this weekend with the final round of games in the Junior Interprovincial Series and three finals at club level.

Munster and Connacht go head to head in the final round of the Interprovincial Series at Rathcooney on Saturday, with both sides having lost their games against Leinster and Ulster.

Munster are propping up the table as Connacht are ahead on scoring differences.

Munster make one change from the team that lost to Leinster with Oisin Walsh starting in place of the injured Ronan Crosse.

The team is:

Munster: Warren Kelly (St Senan’s); Dan Horgan (Muskerry), Luke Hogan (Clonmel), Eoin O’Dwyer (Thurles), Ronan O’Brien (Kanturk); Derry O’Connor (Abbeyfeale), Conor Cremin (Kanturk); Niall Campion (Clonmel), Mike Cronin (Castleisland), David O’Gorman (Clonmel); Sean Walsh (Clanwilliam), Brendan Childs (Galbally) (c); Tony Cantwell (Clonmel), Oisin Walsh (Galbally), Kieran Downey (Castleisland).

Replacements: Mark Corby (Clonmel), Brendan Kelleher (Kanturk), Danny Lambe (Fethard), Luke Kelly (Thurles), Diarmuid Devaney (Clonmel), Sean Herlihy, Johnny Lillis (Thurles), Keith McManus (St. Mary’s).

Garryowen and Cork Constitution lock horns in the Munster Senior Seconds’ League decider at Dooradoyle on Saturday. The Temple Hill side were defeated by Highfield in last year’s decider, while the Sky Blues are seeking their first title since 1999.

There are two finals down for decision at the Paddocks in Cobh on Sunday.

A new name will be inscribed on the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Plate as Mallow and Old Christians contest the decider. Both sides have qualified on the back of indifferent campaigns in Division 2 of the Munster Junior League. These sides met at the North Cork venue in October where Mallow won 18-11 to record their first League win.

Ballincollig and Kanturk, who have both claimed silverware at Junior 3 level will be looking to add to their respective collections as they go head to head in the 50th McCarthy Cup decider.

Ballincollig will be looking to complete a Treble after having won the Tait Cup and the South Munster Junior 3 League, while the Duhallow side will be looking to add to their South Munster Junior 3 Cup title.
