The Community Series dominates the weekend’s schedule with games in both the Men’s and Women’s Conferences.
See the full fixture list here.
In the men’s Munster Conference 1, Cork Constitution, who claimed maximum points from their opener against Old Crescent, face a tricky task as they travel to Limerick to take on Garryowen at Dooradoyle. The Sky Blues were held to a 22-22 draw by Highfield last time out.
The only local derby in this Conference sees Old Crescent taking on Young Munster at Rosbrien. Old Crescent were defeated 54-19 by Cork Constitution on Leeside, while Young Munster hit the ground running with a 43-14 maximum-point home win over UCC.
Cashel will be looking to make it two wins out of two following their maximum-point 36-30 away win over Shannon as they welcome Highfield to the Premier County. The Leesiders were held to 22-22 draw by Garryowen in their opener at Woodleigh Park.
UCC and Shannon are both seeking their first wins as the Students were defeated 43-14 by Young Munster in Limerick. Shannon claimed two bonus points from their narrow 36-30 home defeat by Cashel.
UL Bohemian face a tough assignment as they begin their campaign in Munster Conference 2 with a home tie against Dolphin at 4GUL. The Leesiders go into the tie on the back of a maximum-point 38-14 victory over Midleton at Irish Independent Park.
Clonmel and Midleton are seeking their first points, following away defeats by Nenagh Ormond and Dolphin respectively.
Clonmel are at home to Bruff, who ran out 32-14 maximum-point home winners over Sunday’s Well.
Midleton welcome Nenagh Ormond to East Cork, with the North Tipperary side going into the tie on the back of a 31-8 maximum-point home win over Premier County neighbours Clonmel.
The Women’s Conferences get under way this weekend. In Conference 1 the all-conquering U.L. Bohemian side begin the campaign with a home derby tie against a combined Shannon-LIT outfit.
It will also be a big occasion for the combined Kerry side as they take on Ballincollig in Tralee. Ballincollig will be in action in the AIL later in the season and it will be interesting to see how both these sides fare.
In Conference 2 there is a Clare derby at Ennis where Kilrush are the visitors and the other tie sees Skibbereen make the long journey to Thurles.
It is a quiet weekend on the Junior scene a week ahead of the opening league games next week. The only competitive game is the meeting of Galbally and Kilfeacle in the Mansergh Cup.
