Weekend Preview | AIL Divisions In Action & All Ireland Junior Cup Openers

There is a full programme of games across all five divisions of the All Ireland League, as well as the opening round of games in the All Ireland Junior Cup.
Highfield and Dolphin get proceedings underway at Woodleigh Park in Division 2A of the AIL on Friday evening.
Highfield are looking to avoid a second successive relegation after collecting their first points against Old Crescent at Irish Independent Park last time out.
The five Munster sides in Division 1A are in action against Dublin opposition on Saturday.
Leaders and former champions Cork Constitution travel to the Capital to take on Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium.
This is the first meeting of the sides since last season’s decider which the Dublin side won on a 19-17 score line.
The Leesiders will be looking to record their fourth successive win and avenge last season’s final defeat, while Lansdowne recorded their first win of the campaign last time out against UCD.
Shannon, who have climbed up to third following their maximum point away win over Terenure College, face a tricky task as they welcome second-placed Clontarf, who are unbeaten to Thomond Park.
Fourth-placed Young Munster travel to the Capital to take on Dubbin University at College Park. The Limerick side face a tough assignment against the Students who are seeking their first win with two bonus points to their credit.
Two sides who surrendered their unbeaten starts to the campaign go head to head as Garryowen, who were defeated by Clontarf in Dublin, welcome UCD to Dooradoyle.
UCC entertain bottom side Terenure College at the Mardyke with both sides seeking their first win. Terenure are propping up the table on zero points, while UCC, who have three bonus points, have slipped into the relegation zone following their 23-17 defeated by Young Munster In Limerick.
On Saturday in Division 2A, fourth-placed Cashel will be looking to get back to winning ways following their narrow defeat by Highfield, from which they claimed a losing bonus point, as they travel to Galway to take on bottom side Galwegians
Sixth-placed UL Bohemian, who claimed a losing bonus point against Nenagh Ormond last time out, travel to Dublin to take on Blackrock College, who have slipped to fifth after surrendering their unbeaten run against Navan.
Nenagh Ormond, who climbed out of the drop zone after collecting their first points against UL Bohemian, face a tough assignment as they welcome second-placed Queen’s University to North Tipperary.
Old Crescent will have their work cut out as they welcome unbeaten leaders Navan, who recorded two bonus point wins, to Rosbrien.
In Division 2B, Sunday’s Well, who were defeated by struggling Corinthians in Galway last time out, will be looking to make the most of home advantage count in a bid to get back to winning ways as they entertain Dungannon at Irish Independent Park.
Division 2C leaders Midleton make the long trip to County Tyrone to take on fourth-placed Omagh Academicals. The East Cork side will have their work cut out if they are to record a fourth successive maximum point win as the Ulster side ran out 28-13 winners over Thomond in Limerick last time out.
Bruff, who recorded a maximum point away win over Tullamore, face a tricky task as they welcome second-placed Ballina, who recorded two bonus point wins, to Kilballyowen Park.
Thomond, who were defeated 28-13 by Omagh Academicals on home turf, will be looking to get a result from their trip to County Dublin to take on bottom side Malahide, who are seeking their first points.
In the opening round of games in the All Ireland Junior Cup, last season’s finalists Kilfeacle are away to Wicklow and Premier County neighbours Clonmel travel to East Galway to take on Creggs.
Richmond are at home to Enniscorthy and Waterpark welcome Carrickfergus to Suirside.
