Weekend Preview | All Ireland League & Munster Junior League Continues

It is another action-packed weekend in both the All Ireland League and the Munster Junior League.
Cashel and Nenagh Ormond get proceedings underway in a Tipperary derby at the Spafield on Friday evening. Cashel, who are second, will be looking to build on the maximum point away win over Galwegians last time out, while the North Tipperary side have climbed up to sixth following their narrow 32-31 home in over Queen’s University.
In Division 1A, Cork Constitution will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the campaign against Lansdowne, as they lock horns with Garryowen, who are hovering above the drop zone, at Temple Hill.
Shannon and UCC, who were both promoted last season, go head to head at Thomond Park. The Students are still without a win but have four bonus points to their credit, while the Limerick side have slipped to fourth following their 22-17 defeat by leaders Clontarf, from which they claimed a losing bonus point.
Young Munster welcome champions Lansdowne to Tom Clifford Park. The Limerick side are sixth following their 37-26 away defeat against Dublin University while Lansdowne have climbed up to fifth following their home win over Cork Constitution.
UL Bohemian, who climbed up to fifth place in Division 2A following their 33-7 away win over Blackrock College, face a tough assignment as they travel to County Meath to take on unbeaten leaders Navan.
Third-placed Highfield travel to Limerick to take on eighth-placed Old Crescent at Rosbrien and Dolphin are at home to Galwegians in a basement clash.
In Division 2B, third-placed Sunday’s Well face a tricky task as they travel to County Kildare to take on leaders MU Barnhall, who have recorded four maximum point victories.
Division 2C leaders Midleton will be looking to make it five wins from five as they welcome struggling Malahide to Towns Park and Thomond who are eighth, travel to North Mayo to take on third-placed Ballina.
Bruff, who have climbed up to fourth following their 26-18 home win over Ballina, host Seapoint, who climbed up to seventh following their narrow 24-22 home win over bottom side Tullamore.
The game of the day in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League sees table toppers and former champions Clonmel hosting Newcastle West, with both sides putting unbeaten records on the line.
Second-placed Skibbereen, who are also unbeaten, face a tricky task as they travel to West Tipperary to take on Kilfeacle, who ran out 23-20 winners over Crosshaven last time out.
Defending champions Bandon, who are third, welcome ninth-placed St Senan’s to West Cork and fourth-placed Richmond will be looking to get a result from their home meeting with Crosshaven.
Abbeyfeale go in search of their first win as they travel to Tipperary Town to take on Clanwilliam and St Mary’s are away to Waterpark who put in a big performance in the All Ireland Junior Cup.
Kanturk, who are propping up the table on zero points, lock horns with fellow strugglers Galbally at the Duhallow venue, with the County Limerick side having claimed a losing bonus point on home turf against St Mary’s.
There are three Cork derbies down for decision in Division 2.
Leaders Mallow will be looking to make it four wins from four as they travel to Rathcooney to take on Old Christians.
Second-placed Kinsale will be looking to make the most of home advantage count as they entertain Muskerry, who ran out 21-22 home winners over Fermoy with a last minute drop goal.
Third-placed Clonakilty are at home to fourth-placed Charleville, with the West Cork side, who have a game in hand going into the tie unbeaten.
Cobh Pirates welcome Fethard, who defeated Old Christians last time out, to the Paddocks, with the East Cork side entering the tie on the back of a 20-20 draw against Waterford City.
Fermoy, who were defeated by a last minute drop goal against Muskerry last time out, will be looking to make the most of home advantage count as they welcome Castleisland to the Showgrounds.
Ballincollig, who are hovering above the drop zone, will have their work cut out as they entertain Waterford City and bottom side Thurles welcome Youghal to the Premier County.
In Division 3, there are two derbies in Kerry and one in West Cork.
Second-placed Tralee will be looking to make it three wins from three as they host Killorglin and third-placed Killarney are away to Chorca Dhuibhne.
Dunmanway, who are on zero points, face a tough assignment as they entertain near neighbours Bantry Bay.
Leaders Mitchelstown will be looking to extend their lead as they host fourth-placed Dungarvan, who are also unbeaten.
Ennis welcome Douglas-Carrigaline to the Banner County. The Clare side should prove too strong for Douglas Carrigaline, who are seeking their first points.
