The Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup gets underway this weekend and the final of the Cork Charity Cup is also down for decision.

There is also action in various Junior competitions across the province.

In the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup, proceedings get underway in North Tipperary as Nenagh Ormond lock horns with Premier County neighbours Cashel at New Ormond Park on Friday evening.

The winners will be away to Old Crescent in round two.

On Saturday, 2003 finalists Midleton welcome UL Bohemian, who last won the trophy in 1962, to East Cork.

The winners will be rewarded with a home tie in the second round against 2011 winners Bruff or Sunday’s Well, who go head to head at Kilballyowen Park.

Clonmel make their debut as a Senior club against Dolphin, who last won the trophy in 1956, at Irish Independent Park.

The winners will have home advantage against Shannon in the second round.

Cork Constitution take on Highfield in the Cork Charity Cup decider at Temple Hill on Saturday, kick-off 1pm.

The Lilywhites are looking to win the trophy for the fifth successive year and their 46th title in all.

Highfield have won the trophy twice in 1966 and 1975.

The Transfield Cup continues with the quarter-finals down for decision.

Abbeyfeale will be at home to UL Bohemian after the Annacotty side defeated Young Munster 21-12 on Tuesday evening last.

Richmond are at home to Shannon on Saturday and on Sunday, Newcastle West take on St Mary’s in West Limerick.

The other tie is Thomond against Old Crescent but a date and time has yet to be confirmed, following Thomond’s 44-0 home win over Bruff mid-week.

There are three quarter-finals down for decision in the Garryowen Cup on Saturday.

Fethard are at home to Cashel in a Tipperary derby and the winners will have home advantage in the semi-finals against Waterpark or Galbally, who meet at Ballinakill.

Thurles lock horns with Nenagh Ormond in Mid Tipperary and the winners will meet Clanwilliam in Tipperary Town.

In South Munster, the O’Neill Cup gets underway with two first round ties.

Cobh Pirates welcome Bantry Bay to the Paddocks and the winners will be at home to Youghal in the quarter-finals.

Dunmanway host Mitchelstown and the winners will be at home to Charleville.
