Weekend Roundup & Results

Domestic season concludes with silverware for Old Christians and Cork Constitution.

Old Christians won the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Plate for the second time with a 28-19 win over Mallow in the final at Cobh.

Stephen Twohig, Sean Meaney and Alan O’Dea scored tries for the Rathcooney side and John Marnell kicked three penalties and two conversions. Mallow replied with tries from Mike Sweeney, Jimmy Glynn and Peter Cosgrove. Glynn converted two of the tries.

Cork Constitution regained the Senior Seconds League title with a 20-17 win against Garryowen at Dooradoyle.

Barry Galvin scored two tries for the winners and Ian Casey got one. Niall Finn kicked a conversion and a penalty. Garryowen replied with tries Anthony Kavanagh, Ahmed Hammad and Michael McElligott and Evan Maher added a conversion.

Kanturk defeated Ballincollig 45-24 in the fifth final of the McCarthy Cup at Cobh. Sean O’Brien scored two tries for the Duhallow side and Mick O’Sullivan, Sean Cremin, Kieran Sexton and Aaron Daly got one each. Cremin converted all six tries and also added a penalty.
