In what was a very quiet weekend on the domestic scene, UL Bohemian took a big step towards finishing top of the Women’s All Ireland League after defeating nearest challengers Railway Union at the 4G UL pitch.

UL Bohemian now hold a seven point lead after their 31-26 victory over their closest rivals.

Alana McInerney opened the scoring with a try for the Limerick side with a try after twelve minutes.

The Dublin visitors went in front on thirty minutes with a converted try but five minutes a later a try by Orla Curtin converted by Nicola Fitzgerald had UL Bohes 12-7 ahead at the interval.

Niamh Kavanagh extended that lead with a third try and Fitzgerald converted two minutes into the second half. Their Dublin visitors hit back quickly with their second converted try.

Tries from Edel Murphy and Fiona Reidy and a Fitzgerald conversion secured the winning bonus point but two late tries from Railway Union saw them go home with bonus points.

Galbally defeated Richmond 24-13 in the only Division 1 Munster Junior League game. This result moves Galbally eight points off the relegation places.

Jack O’Donovan scored two tries for Galbally and Tom Davern got one. John Kearns kicked three conversions and a penalty. Shane Halpin replied with a try for Richmond and Brian Mullins kicked a conversion and two penalties.
