In the only game played in the All Ireland League, Highfield were hunting for their second win in these season’s league, while in the Munster Junior League Thomond look like the team to catch.

A last minute converted try earned Dublin University a 26-20 win over Highfield in Division 1B of the All Ireland League at Woodleigh Park. They led 17-7 at half time with tries from Conor Kennelly and Travis Coomey, with Shane O’Riordan converting both and he also kicked a penalty.

In the Munster Junior League holders Thomond are setting an early pace as they recorded their third successive bonus point win with a 32-5 win over Richmond at Liam Fitzgerald Park. Joshua Dillon scored two of Thomond’s four tries and Jason Kiely and Kaelan McMahon were their other try scorers. Kiely kicked three conversions and two penalties. Ger Meehan replied with a try for Richmond.

Kanturk remain in second place after their 28-26 away win at bottom side Sunday’s Well in a game where the lead changed hands five times, Bryan O’Sullivan scored two tries for Kanturk and Dylan Moynihan and Conor O’Sullivan got one each. Eoin Goggin converted three of the tries, and Stephen McAuliffe one. Jamie O’Leary, Dylan Cooper, Emeka Asiegbu and Ciaran Maguire were the Well try scorers, with Maguire converting three of the tries.

A last minute try from Jacques van Wyngaardt earned Kilfeacle a 26-23 home victory against neighbours Thurles. Timmy Clarke, Gavin Heuston and Kevin Kinane were their other try scorers. Luke Heuston kicked three conversions. James Maher and Seamus Holohan replied with tries for Thurles. Jack Flannery kicked two conversions and a penalty, with Maher adding two penalties.

Bandon won the West Cork derby defeating Clonakilty 10-7  with a try from Tom Fergusson and a conversion and a penalty by Hugh O’Mahony. Rob Howick replied with a try for Clon’ and Mark Purcell converted.

Second Division champions St. Mary’s recorded their second victory in the top flight with a 34-27 home win against Mallow. Rio Tier scored two tries for the Limerick side, and Zach Moloney, Keith O’Brien and Sean Duggan were the other try scorers. Adam Guerin kicked three conversions and a penalty. Dave Walsh, Dylan Walsh, Ryan Stewart and Barry Taylor replied with tries for Mallow. Hunter Cowan kicked two conversions and a penalty.

In a ten try thriller in Skibbereen, the home side defeated Newcastle West 42-33 David Shannon scored three of the home sides tries, with Tom Beare, Kieran Shannon and Xavier McEldowney getting the others. David Shannon converted four of the tries, and also added a penalty. Kieran Copse, Shane Airey, Aaron Rice, and Jason Woulfe replied with tries for the visitors and Airey kicked two conversions and three penalties.

Muskerry and Crosshaven shared the spoils at Ballyanly when they played a 15-15 draw. Tom Griffin scored an early try for Muskerry, but a last minute try by Colm Heelan secured the draw. Rob Cahill kicked a conversion and a penalty for the home side. Crosshaven replied with tries from Denis McBarron and Graham Smith. Kealan Daly kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Only three sides remain unbeaten in Division 2. Clanwilliam had an impressive 62-12 home win against Castleisland.  Jack Quinlan, Gavin Downey, Ben Downey, Niall Leahy, Cormac Donovan, Jack Ryan, Darragh burke, Shane Leahy and Edwin Nolan scored tries for Clan’. Niall Leahy kicked seven conversions and a penalty. Mike Cronin and Kevin Lenihan replied with tries for the Kerry side and Joe Sheehy added a conversion.

Ballincollig made it two wins from two with a 30-15 bonus point home win against Waterpark. Brandon Vosioo and Donagh O’Connor scored tries for Waterpark and Willie Walsh kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Old Christians were 34-0 winners against St. Senan’s at Rathcooney. Mark Gleeson, Cian Smith, Laszio Rabatin, and Oscar Clark were the home side try scorers. John Marnell kicked four conversions and two penalties.

Fethard and Ennis share top spot with a game more played. Fethard defeated Fermoy 26-19. Robert Wall scored two tries and Mike Lawrence, and Ricky Lambe got one each Paddy Gaynor kicked two conversions and Peter Wall one. Fermoy replied with tries from Peter Finn, Darren Hartnett and Jack Duggan. Finn kicked two conversions.

Ennis defeated Cobh Pirates 26-6 with two tries from Cian Guilfoyle and one each by Dylan Kenny and Brendan Keane. Keane converted three of the tries. Billy Cain replied with two penalties for the Pirates.

Leaders Tralee suffered a surprising home defeat losing to Charleville 25-20.Darragh Brown, Jack Barrett, and Kian Smith scored tries for Charleville. Jessie Smith kicked two penalties and a conversion, and Kiam Smith also added a conversion. Ben Glavin and Robbie Murphy replied with tries for Tralee and Gavin Peevers converted both and also added two penalties.

Kinsale bounced back after last week’s defeat by Clanwilliam with a 41-33 home win over Abbeyfeale. Timmy Lynch (2), Brian O’Donnell, Erhan Farley, Dan Graham, Robin O’Flynn, and Conall Gilleran scored tries for Kinsale and Dylan Lacey kicked three conversions. Jamie Sullivan replied with two tries two conversions and three penalties for the visitors. Jack Sullivan and Kevin Lane also added tries.

After two round of games in Division 3, Youghal are the outright leaders following their emphatic 86-7 home win against Douglas. Kelvin Yellop, Darragh Coleman, Nathan O’Halloran, Tom O’Neill, Sean O’Riordan, Jordan Yellop, Stephen Kelly and Olan Coleman were the Youghal try scorers. O’Halloran kicked six conversions and a penalty. Douglas replied with a try from Dave McCarthy and Eoin Philpott converted.

Carrick-on-Suir defeated Killorglin47-17 with two tries each from Jack O’Connell and Mick Dineen, Fionn Barry, Ryan O’Donoghue and Cian Walsh also scored tries. Barry kicked six conversions. Cian Corcoran, Barry Sheehan and Dan Kelliher replied with tries for Killorglin and Luke O’Shea kicked one conversion.

Corca Dhuibhne’s great start to the season continued when they defeated Dungarvan 34-14. Tomás Ó Sé and Fearghal Cooney each scored two tries for the Gaeltacht side and Kentin Bouyer and Gearoid Breathnach got one apiece. Tip Joseph Delaney kicked two conversions. Daniel Slevin and David Hickey replied with tries for Dungarvan, with Hickey converting both.

Killarney defeated Ardscoil Old Boys 27-6 at UL Grounds. Diarmuid Carr scored two tries and Brendan Fuller one for Killarney and Ciaran O’Brien  converted all three tries and added two penalties.

Waterford City had a 41-19 home win over Scariff. Cian Foskin (2), Mikey O’Connor (2), Aaron Smith and Daniel Kelly were the try scorers for Waterford with O’Connor converting four of the tries along with a penalty. Aidan Hogan, Declan Noonan and Rob Sherlock replied with tries for Scariff. Marc Loughran kicked two conversions.
