Winning Start For Munster Women

The Women’s squad make their way back to Munster this evening after a successful outing in Belfast which saw them defeat the home side 36-10 in their opening Intepro game.

Ulster opened the scoring after a bout of pressure which resulted in a try, but Munster were quick to respond with a Niamh Briggs converted try and the score went in the visitors favour 5-7.

UL Bohs winger Ashling Hutchins extended the lead with two successive tries, the second of which was under the posts giving Briggs an easy conversion before Ulster fought back to claim their second and final score of the afternoon,10-19 at half-time.

On the return Munster continued to mount the pressure and their hard work was rewarded with three unanswered tries from Niamh Kavanagh, Niamh Briggs and Anna Caplice.
