Crescent College Comprehensive are through to the Munster Schools Senior Cup quarter final stage while Ardscoil Rís also quality for the Junior Cup last eight after wins at the 4G UL pitches.

Crescent College Comprehensive ran in six tries as they advanced to Friday’s quarter final draw of the Munster Schools Senior Cup with a deserved victory over a Glenstal side who battled away until the finish.
Daniel Hurley who had an outstanding game at full back for the Dooradoyle College contributing a try, penalty and three conversions opened the scoring with a penalty but Glenstal’s out half Ben Healy had the sides level shortly after.
Center Calvin Nash restored Crescent’s lead with a try but Glenstal responded again with a try from their skipper Jack Stafford and Healy converted for a 10-8 lead.
Just before half time Hurley scored a super solo try which he also converted to leave Crescent 15-10 ahead at half time.
It was all Crescent in the second half as they raced into a 34-10 lead with tries from Anson Thai, Conor Philips and Jack Fehilly. Hurley added two conversions,

George Downing scored a second try for Glenstal and Healy converted but Crescent completed the scoring with a Niall Mulcahy try.

Hurley leads way to crescent victory
Crescent College Comprehensive had an impressive win against Glenstal Abbey on the 4G pitch in UL on the 27th of January.
Crescent strated strong with Daniel Hurley scoring a penalty in the first five minutes, but Glenstal’s outhalf Ben Healy scored a penalty of his own to put the sides level.
But soon after Billy O’Hora restored Crescent’s lead by scoring the game’s opening try. Glenstal responded well with a try from captain Jack Stafford, Healy added the conversion.
But the moment of the game came just before half-time when Hurley collected the ball deep inside his own half and scored a superb individual try in the corner, adding an equally impressive conversion to put Crescent 15-10 ahead at the break.
Crescent dominated the second half scoring four tries the first of which came from half-time sub Mikey Sheehan. Soon followed by Conor Phillips, who finished in the corner. Hurley was unable to convert.
Sub Jake Fehily showed great pace to score an impressive intercept try from inside his own 22 to run in under the posts. Hurley added the easy conversion.
Glenstal managed to restore some pride when George Downing crossed the white-wash.Healy added the conversion to make the score 34-17.
Flanker Niall Mulcahy provided the icing on the cake after a poorly contested box kick from Mark Edwards fell into his hands and showed enough pace to score in the corner. Final score: Crescent 39 Glenstal 17.
Ard Scoil Rís 18, St. Clement’s 12.
Ard Scoil Rís had to come from behind to reach the last eight of the Munster Schools Junior Cup to beat a gallant St. Clement’s side at the 4G UL grounds.
In an evenly contested first half a try from Adam Marshall converted by Alex Kiely gave Clement’s a 7-0 half time lead.
Ard Scoil hit back at the start of the second half with a penalty from Adam McNamara and a try by Stephen Cleary converted by Gerard Higgins to lead 10-7.
A try by Clement’s full back Adam Kiely restored their advantage but Ard Scoil finished the stronger with a penalty from Higgins and a try by Jack Ward Murphy to advance.
