The 2024 edition of the Munster Rugby Excellence Camps got underway last week in ULs north campus.

With both pitch and classroom based sessions throughout the week this is the perfect opportunity for players aged 13 – 16 to learn the skills to take forward in their future rugby playing careers.

The Girls Excellence Camp took place first from the 11th – 14th of June.

Over 20 girls attended the camp in Limerick where they tackled the four cornerstones of rugby as well as nutrition and fitness.

The camp was overseen by a number of highly skilled Munster coaches in Ken Imbusch, Rosemary Dillon and Brian O’ Dowd, while Munster Women’s Strength & Conditioning coach Kenneth Mills was on hand to provide classes on S&C and nutrition throughout the week.

This week, 17th – 21st June, saw the first boys camps take place in UL.

The 69 boys who attended the camp showed a great standard of rugby and the coaches hope to see a number come through our player pathway in years to come.

Throughout the week the players worked on technical and physical skills and had four educational modules in Nutrition, S&C, Mental Skills and the Player Pathway.

The players also had the chance to work with some very experienced Munster coaches including Fiach O’ Loughlin, Gerry Casey, Bryan Murphy, Noel O’ Meara, Nathan O’ Meara, Ken Imbusch and Kenneth McNamara.
