Women In Rugby Action Plan Survey

7th June 2022 By The Editor

Women In Rugby Action Plan Survey

As part of its Women In Rugby Action Plan Review, the IRFU are inviting all those involved in the game to provide their feedback on the way in which women’s rugby is delivered.

The review is seeking feedback from all those involved in women’s rugby, male and female, be it through volunteering, coaching, refereeing, or playing, and from women who are active in any other part of the game, including those involved in the men’s game.

The survey is an important part of the wider review into the women’s game, which is being spearheaded by Amanda Bennett, of FairPlay Limited, to review progress to-date and seek views on what steps should be taken to improve the game.

Amanda Bennett, FairPlay Limited said:

“The women’s rugby ‘Your Game, Your Say’ survey is one facet of the Women In Rugby Action Plan Review where we are asking those involved in the women’s game, and women involved in any part of the game, to make their voice heard and shape the direction of the game into the future.

“The survey asks tailored questions for each of the specified roles and we really want to hear from volunteers, coaches, players, and referees.

“We need input from a wide range of stakeholders, across clubs and schools, across all four provinces, so we are asking people to complete the survey and ideally share it with others, and ask them to do it, to ensure all voices are heard.

“This is an opportunity to gather views on how the game currently works and how it might work better in the future.”

What Is The Women In Rugby Action Plan Survey?

The Women In Rugby – Your Game, Your Say Survey is a short survey designed to gather feedback directly from the rugby community as part of a wider review into women in rugby.

Where has this survey come from?

In October 2021, the IRFU appointed Amanda Bennett, former Welsh Rugby International and Founder of FairPlay, as an independent consultant to conduct both a Women’s Rugby World Cup Qualification Campaign Review and a Women In Rugby Action Plan Review.

The IRFU received and formally accepted all recommendations in the independent RWC review in March 2022 and this survey marks the next phase in completion of the Women In Rugby Action Plan Review.

Who can complete the survey?

The survey is open to anyone who is currently active or has previously been active in rugby provided for women and girls or women involved in rugby in any capacity. They could be a player, a volunteer, a coach, a match official, a parent or anyone who has helped make rugby happen for women and girls.

People of all gender identities are welcome to participate in this survey, once they have direct experience of what rugby is like for females in rugby in Ireland or IQ Rugby. Participants aged under 16 must have consent from a parent/guardian to complete this survey.
