Women’s AIL Season Kicks Off On Sunday

The women’s All-Ireland League season kicks off this weekend with nine Munster sides in action in Division 1A and Division 2 South on Sunday.
The action will feature Munster players looking to transfer the superb form that saw them reclaim the Interprovincial title two weeks ago to their club sides.
Highfield were beaten finalists in last season’s Division 1 final and start with a very difficult trip to Crowley Park to take on Galwegians.
The clash with be a repeat of March’s All-Ireland Cup final that saw Galwegians prevail on a 26-18 scoreline.
UL Bohemians made it to the semi-finals last year and host current champions Old Belvedere on the back pitch at Thomond Park.
Last season’s All-Ireland Shield winners Tralee will be looking to improve on their seventh placed finish last term and begin this campaign with a trip to Dublin to face Railway Union in Park Avenue.
UL Bohs are the last Munster side to win the All-Ireland League in 2012, that year also saw Tralee gain promotion after becoming the Division 2 South champions.
The Division 1A regular season finishes on Sunday, November 30th with the semi-finals and final taking place in the first two weeks of December.
The six-team Division Two South also begins on Sunday with six teams in action.
Last season’s All-Ireland Plate winners Ballincollig host the merged Youghal/Dungarvan side in Tanner Park, Nenagh Ormond travel to Fermoy and New Ross face St. Senan’s at Southknock.
