Women’s Interpro Fixtures Confirmed

Munster are away to Connacht and at home to Ulster and Leinster.

The venues and kick-off times for the IRFU Women’s Interprovincial Championship have been confirmed with the Munster Women’s team, sponsored by Keanes jewellers, kicking off the campaign away to Connacht at the Sportsground on Saturday, December 2 (2.30pm).

Laura Guest’s side then host Ulster at Dooradoyle the following weekend before Leinster visit Thomond Park on Saturday, December 16 (2.30pm).

The Munster Women’s team have won 11 Interpro titles in the last 15 years and were denied the three-in-a-row by Leinster in Donnybrook last December.

The Sportsground, Donnybrook and Thomond Park will also play host to fixtures over the three weekends of what is set to be a fiercely-contested Interpro campaign.

Munster kick off the campaign in Connacht and won last season’s corresponding fixture 12-8 at Irish Independent Park thanks to tries from Eimear Considine and Deirbhile Nic A Bhaird.

Ulster open their campaign at home to Leinster at Dromore RFC on Sunday, December 3. The Ulster side suffered a heavy defeat last season, going down 46-0 to the eventual champions.

Round 2 will see Leinster hosting Connacht in Donnybrook and Munster at home to Ulster at Dooradoyle, home of Garryowen FC. These matches take place on Saturday, December 9 with Munster’s game kicking off at 3pm, while the match in Dublin is down for a 5pm start.

The final round of Interpro matches takes place on Saturday, December 16 with a potential decider at Thomond Park between arch rivals Munster and Leinster. Ulster wrap up the series at home to Connacht at Belfast Harlequins RFC’s Deramore Park.

The Munster Women’s team face the Barbarians in an historic clash at Thomond Park on Friday. Full details.
