Women’s Long Term Player Development Workshop
6th November 2015 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently held a Women’s Long Term Player Development workshop presented by Nora Stapleton, IRFU Women and Girls Development Executive in Charleville, Co. Cork.
The purpose of the evening was to outline the components of the model and how it relates to the game at the varying levels.
During the evening Stapleton spoke about the essence of the player, the coach and the game while also helping the coaches understand Strategic, Tactical, Technical, Physical, Mental and Personal characteristics.
Another significant part of the workshop related to the “late beginners” in rugby and how best to manage these players in sessions helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable integration into the game.
