Women’s Rugby Coaching Course
18th January 2011 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby will break new ground when they host the first women only foundation coaching course on April 1st & 2nd in Clanwilliam FC.
The objective of the course is to help develop women’s participation in the game across the six counties and comes in response to demand from representatives of women’s rugby in clubs.
Speaking about the upcoming course Munster Rugby, Domestic Rugby Manager Ultan O’Callaghan said “This is a huge opportunity for Women’s rugby in the province. With the Munster Ladies securing their 5th Interprovincial Series in a row, there has never been a better time to be involved in women’s rugby and to contribute towards the future of the game.”
Munster Rugby Women’s Community Rugby Officer Amanda Greensmith added “I am very excited at the opportunity that this course will offer to women in clubs and schools to take responsibility for our game and to continue to grow the number of girls getting the opportunity to play rugby as well as developing the future stars of both the Munster and Irish Women’s Rugby."
Also in attendance for the launch were Munster players Helen Brosnan and Donna Hughes who took time out of their work schedules to lend their support for this new initiative.
