August is set to be a landmark month for rugby in Ireland, as it hosts the Women’s Rugby World Cup, with the Irish women’s side looking to create history and push on from their semi-final finish at the last tournament to achieve glory on home soil.
The girls’ group stages games are already completely sold out, and as the temperature is rising so too is anticipation ahead of the tournament, which takes place in Dublin and Belfast from August 9th.
Summer camp #FutureReds were there to welcome the World Cup Trophy in Scariff and Highfield last week, with Leah Lyons, Deirbhile Nic a Bhaird and Anna Caplice bringing the trophy they hope to be lifting on Saturday 26th August.
The trophy will be vising several more camps over the next few weeks, with more young boys and girls getting their chance to see the prize in person as they look to hone their own rugby skills.
