Young Munster edge closer to Relegation
5th April 2009 By Munster Rugby
With Two games remaining in the First Division of the AIB Al Ireland League, Young Munster must win their games away to Buccaneers and U.C.D to have any chance of retaining their First Division status.

Young Munster are having no luck in their attempt to avoid relegation. Four minutes from the end of their game at Clifford Park yesterday a penalty from the 22 yards mark and almost in front of the posts denied them victory against St. Mary’s College.
Fullback Mark Connolly put Young Munster 6-0 in front with penalties in the first and tenth minutes.
The yellow carding of Darragh Payne did not help Young Munster after 21 minutes and his dismissal led to Barry Lynn landing a penalty for the visitors.
The game’s only try came after 32 minutes when Conor Donohue got in for the visitors.
Two minutes into the second half Young Munster got back in front with another penalty by Connolly but a similar score by Shaun McCarthy edged the ‘saints’ back in front again but Connolly’s late miss from in front of the posts proved costly despite a bonus point being of help to Young Munster.
Scorers: At Clifford Park, Young Munster M Connolly 3 pens, St. Mary’s College C Donohue, try, B Lynn, S McCarhy 1 pen each.
