Young Munster With The Support Of Munster Rugby Host Rugby Inclusion Day

Young Munster, with the support of Munster Rugby, hosted a Rugby Inclusion Day last week in Tom Clifford Park.

The session, which was planned and organised by Mini and Youth Officer for Young Munster, Colette Bolger, saw participants from Enable Ireland take part in tailored rugby based game and activities.

The games and activities were conducted by Munster Rugby Women’s Development officers Ken Imbusch and Willie Shubart while Young Munster captain Alan Kennedy also assisted on the day.

Another highlight of the day was the presence of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup trophy which Young Munster won earlier in the season.

“After Munster’s big win at the weekend, it was a great experience to be able to chat with Willie, Ken and Alan and do some training with them,” Bolger said.

“They showed us how to adapt the training, making rugby an inclusive sport for all. It was fantastic to be able to play a sport that we love so much alongside people that we all look up to.

“A massive highlight was to be able to see and get photos taken with the Munster Senior Challenge Cup. It was a fantastic experience for both parties to learn off each other over a common interest, Willie was even taught a bit of sign language on the sidelines.

“We really appreciate the time and effort that was put in to making this union a success and we look forward to all our future gatherings together.”
