No joy for Munster at Stradey

No joy for Munster at Stradey

Munster’s dismal form in the Magners League continued when they were defeated 25-12 by Llanelli Scarlets in Stradey Park on Sunday, a result that sees them remain second from bottom in the table.

What will hurt Munster most though is that with ten minutes to go they were just three points in arears yet mistakes in the final minutes cost them dearly and denied them at least the consolation of a bonus point.

Jeremy Manning was responsible for all their points with three penalties and a drop goal and Munster might have had a try in the opening quarter had when Barry Murphy was collared near the line with playerrs free outside him.

The Scarlets led by a single point at the break (10-9) but minutes after the restart Deacon Manu scored his side’s second try. Manning landed a penalty to bring the score to 15-12, that score arriving in the 48th minute but Munster were unable to improve on that and they paid dearly in the final minutres.
